Last April 2016, we traveled to Kuala Lumpur to attend IMG Malaysia Summit, it was the first time that the convention was held there. We made history of being the first organization to have a historical march gathering over 2,000 Filipinos in front of the famous Petronas Tower. |

Travelling to Malaysia is quite exciting, I think every new place always gives us that thrill. From Cebu, only Air Asia has a direct route to Kuala Lumpur but there are alternative flights to Kuala Lumpur . We booked a flight going to Singapore then another 1-hour flight going to Kuala Lumpur, it’s more convenient than taking a 6-hour bus ride.

From Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) we took a bus heading to Kuala Lumpur City Centre, tickets are sold near the tourist information center. Bus fare costs RM 15.00, it's more than an hour trip. If you want a faster way, another alternative is to take the KLIA Express train which costs RM 55.00, you have to pay for convenience.

The place is somewhat the same as ours as well as the heat - in my opinion, it's even hotter there. "Malaysia, truly init s'ya" was one of the tagline of our colleague. But nevertheless, we strolled around KL Park, Suria Mall, and the famous Petronas Tower, just a walking distance from where we were staying.

From Petronas Tower, we headed to Merdeka Square by taking a taxi which costs RM 30.00 which was the only price they offer, there was no metered taxi there. Unfortunately we got stuck in the rain so weren't able to tour the whole vicinity. We intended to attend mass but we got lost along the way so we head back to our hotel.
Foods were quite affordable, most of the time we ate at Suria Mall's food court. There are a lot of choices from rice meals to burgers and steaks, ranging from RM 8.00 to RM 20.00.

The next day was the much awaited convention attended by over 2,000 people who want to make a change and be the change. The world is constantly changing from film to digital; from gasoline to electric car; from being broke to becoming financially independent; and from an old platform to a new membership platform.
We have learned a lot from our great leaders and builders from the Philippines, US and Canada. "Change is never easy. You fight to hold on, you fight to let go." but as long as you always anchor everything on what truly matters, it can be done.

After the successful convention that filled our minds with great lessons, it was time to fill our stomach with great food. We strolled around to see Kuala Lumpur at night with the majestic view of the Petronas Tower and the musical fountain show.

The next day, we went to Batu Caves. From KLCC, we took a train to KL Sentral which costs RM 2.40 then from KL Sentral we transferred to KLM Kumoter going to Batu Caves which costs RM 2.65, it was a 40-minute slow journey to the caves.

There are a lot to see in Batu Caves, some caves have entrance fees but the famous one which is the "Temple Cave" is for free but you have to climb the 272 steps to see it. You can see hundreds of doves in the area, if you feed them they'll come to you; it's not only the doves that will come near you but also the monkeys so be careful.

Due to limited time, we went to Chinatown to buy pasalubong but there were only few stalls displaying souvenirs at noon, so we went to Central Market - bought only chocolates and the famous Old Town White Coffee because we had to catch our flight back to Singapore then to Cebu.
Once is never enough, there are a lot to see and do in Malaysia. This wouldn't be the first and last, so come and join us - experience life at IMG travels.
